Felt ornaments
Owen was really excited to read this card today!
He concentrated really hard, and announced that he was sewing properly "just like a real mum".
He told me what shape he wanted, I cut two shapes from felt, Owen then sewed them carefully together leaving a little gap through which to pour in polystyrene beads, before inserting a ribbon and sewing over the gap. He then sewed a little button on the front.
He has a few more cut out that he is going back to every so often, stitching and filling, and trimming. Cain wasn't very interested in joining in this as he wanted to sew with the machine instead so we might make some with that tomorrow....

Today we had an extra advent activity, this time for yours truly, aka Nanny and Grandad. It was Sophie's school nativity and she had tickets for us. The play was called "The Disgruntled Snowman" and was filled with singing snowflakes, a grumpy snowman and the inevitable Nativity characters.

A knitted gingerbread heart was added to the advent tree this morning, it's beginning to fill up nicely now and it's becoming harder for Cain to find empty branches.
Hope your days are filling out as nicely as our little tree.
