December day 16

Winter trees

This idea was blatantly copied from here:

We started off by making handprints with dark green paint as my thoughts were of cutting around them and then sticking them, fingers down,  to either toilet roll tube trunks or plain white card, creating lovely green fir trees. The boys however, remembered seeing this film a couple of days ago and so wanted to try it this way instead. They thought the white patches could be snow sitting on the branches of the trees.

Do you see how interested the little girlie is in the tree? Not at all - she's got pasta!!
Definitely inspired by the view from the window as today we had our first snow of the season, albeit only a light covering. Enough to have them outside in vests, pj bottoms and wellies though :)

Today we added a knitted bauble to the advent tree. This one has Owen's name stitched on. I am now feeling pretty certain I didn't get round to making one with Heathers name.....and as I am not feeling so well the past few days, headache, iffy tummy, exhaustion and so on, I don't think I will be able to get round to making one again. Good job she's still too young to realise :)

A full weekend in work coming up so I wonder what simple fuss free activities those Christmas Elves are going to come up with?
